ELIZABETH TORRES: (Madam Neverstop) Bogotá, Colombia, 1987. Poet, multimedia artist, and translator.

Award-winning poet, multimedia artist and translator, author of over 20 books of poetry published in various languages. Winner of the Ambroggio Prize by the Academy of American Poets, 2022, with the book “La Lotería: Sorteo Nocturno / The Lottery: Nocturnal Sweepstakes” released by the University of Arizona Press in 2023. Most recent books include “Expediciones a la región furtiva”, (Expeditions to the furtive region, poetry, spanish) Valparaiso Ediciones, 2023. “Would you like to come home” (2021) and “The Ways of the Firefly” published in English and German by Moloko Plus, with translations by Klaudia Ruschowski in 2020, “Fábulas del Desastre” (Fables of the Disaster, poetry, spanish) MiCielo Ediciones 2021, “Det usynlige sår” (The invisible wound) in Spanish and Danish, translated by Malene Boeck Thorborg and published in Denmark by Det Poetiske Bureaus Forlag in 2019, and En las Fauces del Olvido (In the Jaws of Oblivion) published by La Impresora in Puerto Rico in 2017 and as a Spanish/English edition in 2018.

Her work intertwines poetry, visuals and soundscapes, language and performance, combining visions and concepts across various art forms and media. She holds an MFA in Performing Arts from the Danish National School of Performing Arts, and has a background in Media & Film and in Fine Arts from Kean University, US. A frequent performer, speaker and poetry educator, Elizabeth focuses on the subjects of multimedia arts, sensorial poetry, book arts, translation and activism through culture.

Elizabeth now resides in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she directs Red Door Magazine & Gallery, hosts the podcast Red Transmissions and is the founder of the international multimedia archive The Poetic Phonotheque. She is a member of the American Literary Translators Association, the International Center for Women Playwrights, the Danish Union of Journalists, the Guild of Book Workers, and the Danish PEN chapter, as well as part of the board of Litteraturcentrum KVU.
