The Omen – Poetry film release

Dear worldthreaders,

Today, I’m so excited to share The Omen with you — my latest video poem and a little winter offering to mark this season of stillness and reflection. This piece brings together poetry, sound, and visuals in a way that feels true to the multimedia process I love so much.

The Omen is a layered experiment, created with a mix of analog and digital tools. I played with my Lyra by SOMA Laboratory (an instrument I’m obsessed with for its raw, organic tones), DaVinci, Hindenburg, AI tools, digital illustration, and collage. It’s a work that pushes me to ask: how can technology deepen the tactile experience of poetry? How can the digital and the handmade work together to say something more?

Multimedia poetry has always been, for me, about building bridges—between media, between emotions, between worlds. It’s a way of opening up conversations, of creating something that feels alive, textured, and unpredictable. With The Omen, I wanted to suspend reality for a moment and offer something atmospheric, reflective, and maybe even a little mysterious.

This piece grew from a poem in my book Lotería: Nocturnal Sweepstakes (University of Arizona Press), but it took on a life of its own in this digital format and in unexpected ways it feels.

I hope you’ll take a moment to watch it and let it carry you somewhere else for a little while. Here’s the link to The Omen on YouTube: https://youtu.be/SceOjTxjF0I. if you want to share it with friends. If you’d like to give your support please consider subscribing to Patreon.

As always, thank you for being part of this journey and for your support — it makes all of this exploration and experimentation possible.
December, here we come!

With love and poetry,
Madam Neverstop
